Evangelism
Let’s Go Fishing
Luke
5:10
What is evangelism
you may ask?
- Evangelism is sharing the message of salvation
with those who don't know Christ as Savior.
Is it my job to
evangelize?
- Evangelism is a daily work of
believers - Acts
5:42.
Mission
The mission of the
Evangelism Ministry is to minister to others by being effective salt shakers
for Christ by sharing the plan of salvation.
Goals
- Have the Evangelism Ministry presented
in such a way that everyone in Logos know that they have a part to play in
sharing the good news of salvation and help to provide various avenues for
sharing Jesus.
- Have people understand that witnessing
is something that we all should do.
Objectives
- Have ongoing evangelism effort and work
with other ministries to incorporate evangelism as part of their
activities.
- Conduct training sessions, and seek
out information from other active evangelism ministries to aid in the
Evangelism Ministry at Logos.
- Stress that witnessing doesn’t have to
be tied to organized group efforts.
THE SEVEN ENEMIES OF EVANGELISM
1. DECEPTION.
- “I’m
not a fisherman.” Jesus said, “follow me,
and I will make you a fisher of men.” God never intended to leave
witnessing to the evangelists and pastors. The entire body of Christ
is to be salt and light to this dying world.
2. FEAR.
- “I’m
afraid of rejection.” Fear is sent by the enemy to paralyze us and
keep us from increasing the population of heaven and decreasing the
population of hell.
3. I JUST DON’T CARE.
- Apathy
is indifference and lack of concern, the exact opposite of passion.
Passion is intense desire. Place soul winning at the top of your
priority list. If it is not at the top, it will wind up at the
bottom.
4. NO VISION FOR THE HARVEST.
- “Why
bother evangelizing? No one will want to get saved.”
5. FORGETTING WHAT IT WAS LIKE BEFORE WE WERE
SAVED.
- We
should never forget what our life was like without him, to be a prisoner
to sin, in chains, serving the god of this world. This will enable
us to see all of the hurting people in our lives in a new light.
6. LACK OF PRAYER.
- “I
gave up praying for my lost loved ones. They are hopeless
7. NOT KNOWING HOW TO EVANGELIZE.
- “I
want to witness. I just don’t know how.” This is the easiest
evangelism enemy to overcome.
Meditate on soul winning scriptures in the bible and tell the lord
your desire to learn.
A
CHURCH THAT DOES NOT EVANGELIZE WILL FOSSILIZE
